It is considered as a wine meant to be drunk young. Enjoyable thanks to its liveliness and lightness.
It should be drunk chilled (at around 10 to 12°C) within 2 to 3 years after harvest.
Great with seafood.
As a very limpid wine, Chablis is fresh, light and fruity. Its aromas and its flavours develop quickly, which means that Chablis may be drunk within one or two years after bottling at around 12°C.
It may be kept up to five years for good vintages.
This wine goes well with fish and with snails.
An elegant and racy wine displaying a range of varied aromas composed of fresh fruits, white flowers and sundried fruits for most of them.
It may be kept 5 to 8 years, or 10 to12 years for the best vintages.
A 5 to 12 years Chablis Premier Cru Fourchaume can be served with Jambon à la Chablisienne (ham in Chablis wine sauce) for instance.
